FAMILY HISTORIES
The Newark Public Library owns about 50 family histories. Following is a list of the names appearing on their covers and title pages (not complete contents).
The "See" references in the list refer to the primary surname on the book, which should be searchable in our online catalog. Just type the surname plus the word "family" as a subject search (i.e. Dawes family).
A much larger collection of family histories is kept at the Licking County Genealogical Society.

Some family history books are hardbound, and some are in folders or envelopes. Since many family histories feature multiple surnames, they are shelved by the primary or first surname of the book title. Cross-references below lead from additional surnames to the primary surname, which is accessible in the online catalog.
